The brief for this project was to create a lamp using sustainable materials and joining methods. This lamp concept is focused around control. The lamp head can be rotated around a rod in the neck, and the neck itself can be inserted into one of three slots. Whilst the brightness of the light can be altered via the three position switch. These features allow the user to have complete control over the direction and intensity of their light. The lamp is created using sustainable bamboo, joined with environmentally friendly glue. Each slot in the base of the lamp has connection points, which when aligned with the metal dimples on the lamp neck, allow current to flow to the LED lights. The images to the left show the process from concept sketches to final design.
